The Biotech Pathways Project is a partnership of both academic and community groups. Biotechnology is a growing field deserving community support for economic reasons, but it is also an engaging area of science to be explored by students and teachers. Below are descriptions and links so that you can get a feel for the members of this consortium.
Academic Partners
One goal of the Biotech Pathways Project is to encourage students into the field of biotechnology. For this reason many of the partners are educational institutions. The consortium is made up of 3 colleges, each with multiple high schools or ROP programs
Colleges
The three community colleges in this outreach project each have Biotechnology Programs. College of the Canyons in Valencia is part of the Santa Clarita Community College District and their Biotech Program has a fantastic new clean room. Moorpark College, in the Ventura Community College District, specializes in bio-manufacturing. Pasadena City College is home to a growing biotechnology program and is also the Center for Biotechnology in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
High Schools
Each of the three community colleges above has identified local high schools that are ready for a "quick start" into biotechnology. Each of the high schools has a lead teacher whose training will allow them to introduce biotechnology into their curriculum and serve as a mentor for other teachers at their school. Below is a table with all of the partner high schools and their lead teachers.

Other Partners
The field of biotechnology requires more than "book" learning. Training students in biotechnology requires corporate partners willing to provide internships. The expense of setting up teaching facilities can only be managed with donations of equipment, marketing help, and lab space. Listed below are the numerous other people and institutions offering their time and money to help form Biotech Pathways.
